THE PHASE VIEW

Choose the workflow before the package

Go2 spans consumer demonstrations and technical experimentation. Choosing a version should start with your need for programming access, sensing and payload integration, rather than the fastest movement shown in a video.

A robot that can follow a route is not automatically an inspection system. Useful deployment also needs a defined output, a way to handle interruptions and evidence that the same task can be repeated reliably.

Where to evaluate it

Learning and demonstrations

Set a clear operating area and a realistic goal for each session, rather than treating autonomous behaviour as unrestricted.

Mapping experiments

Decide what map accuracy and repeatability your project needs and how you will measure both.

Mobile sensing

Check the complete payload: mount, power, data interface and its effect on balance and runtime.

Manufacturer comparison

AIR / PRO

Separate configurations in Unitree’s comparison. Published speed ranges are 0–2.5 m/s for AIR and 0–3.5 m/s for PRO.

X / EDU

Both have separate columns in the comparison. EDU lists foot-end force sensors. Confirm development access and the delivered package directly.

Configuration notes summarise the linked manufacturer page. Confirm the exact hardware and software in writing.

BUYING IN AUSTRALIA

Scope the purchase.
Not just the hardware.

For Australian ownership, check battery freight, spare feet and joints, repair location and app availability. A lower upfront price can still leave a project waiting on parts or unsupported software.

Australian availability and local support have not been independently verified. No verified Australian delivered price is published here.

Questions before you commit

  1. Confirm the model and battery supplied; a family-level endurance headline is not a runtime guarantee.
  2. Ask which app, communications and cloud functions work in Australia and what requires connectivity.
  3. For research, obtain written confirmation of SDK access, interfaces and supported firmware before purchase.
